Das Problem steht als weiter auf der "Todo" Liste von Valve ganz oben und ein kleines Team arbeitet daran.

If you read back through the forum... People are fixing the problems without a patch. If this was a huge bug in the code it wouldn't be fixable without a code change. Most of the fixes in fact have involved hardware configuration changes (i.e. disabling one of the two soundcards installed) and / or driver updates.

Insgesamt haben nur 200 Spieler das Problem bei Valve gemeldet. Die Dunkelziffer dürfte natürlich deutlich höher liegen, trotzdem sind die Problemfälle in Relation zu den Millionen-Verkaufszahlen sehr selten.
Das Problem scheint außerdem nicht nur durch einen Engine-Bug verursacht zu werden. Viele Stotter-Spieler haben das Problem durch Systemveränderungen wie das Abschalten einer zweiten Soundkarte gelöst.
