Zitat: Gamecloud - What new and returning weapons can we expect from Day of Defeat Source?
John Morello II - Almost all of the weapons we previously had in DoD are also in DoD: Source. We've done some restructuring so a few didn't make the cut. Some have been replaced by similar weapons. However we have also added some new elements. For example the Garand and K98 now have the ability to fire a "rifle grenade" a long distance with accuracy. They're great for clearing snipers out of windows, or banking them around a corner off a building without exposing yourself.
Gamecloud - What other gameplay tweaks and improvements can we expect from DoD:Source?
John Morello II - Too many to list in one go, but we've added the use of "iron sights" to rifles, and given the assault role (who carry the Thompson and MP40) smoke grenades to help counter enemy machinegun and sniper fire. Also machine gunners can now place their machinegun on any surface in front of them that's not too low or too high. They can even be deployed on physics objects. So a player could roll a barrel out into the street, then deploy his machinegun on it to support his team’s advance
